आसाना प्राणायाम मु० द् । The Asanas that are taught in Hatha Yoga are divided into two major categories - Asanas that are practiced in seated or standing postures for stretching, strengthening and balancing the body, and those that are practiced in supine, semi-supine or prone postures for calming the mind. The second category includes Pranayama Mudra Bandha or breath control which is also called Antar Mouna. This technique of breath purification is used to calm the mind and prepare it to deal with spiritual matters. While seated in Padmasana or Sukhasana (cross-legged posture), the hands are placed on the knees and a variety of breathing exercises (Pranayama) and Bandha (locks) are performed. There are many variations of Asanas practiced for Antar Mouna. The posture shown in the above illustration is one such variation. The posture shown in the illustration is as follows: While sitting flat on the floor, bend the right leg and place it over the left thigh. Bend forward and bring your chin to your knee. Hold this position for some time and then get up and move around for a while. This posture helps prepare the mind to receive spiritual knowledge. The Asana may be held longer than the prescribed time so that all impurities can be removed from the body and psyche. The breathing exercises (Pranayama) and Bandha (locks) for the posture are as follows: मन्त्र प्राणा पुण्य(sun-dried) शासो (and "skandha") । Mantra = na tu sa ava ku རྗེ་ཆུབ་པ་, ༏ མྱ་ོ ༬, ༬ , ༬ ,. ༰ ༦ ཛུར་བྱ , ༥, ༦ ,. Balanced = ka va ni 3 | na 5 ku na 5 ku ni sa(ku) pa(sa) tu sa (k)kmar pralambh || The Asanas that are practiced at the end of practice session are known as "Vitarka" (Analysis) Asanas. The first two one-legged standing postures of this category include Ustrasana or Camel posture and Gomukhasana or Tortoise posture. cfa1e77820
